Born on January 22, 1972, in a Maharashtrian family, Namrata is the granddaughter of noted Marathi actress Meenakshi Shirodkar. She began her journey in the glamour world with modeling and was crowned Miss India in 1993, representing India at the Miss Universe pageant.
