Vijay reveals he took 'revenge' on Shah Rukh by playing antagonist in Jawan
At Jawan`s pre-release event in Chennai, Vijay Sethupathi revealed he took revenge on Shah Rukh Khan by playing the antagonist in the film

Shah Rukh Khan attended a pre-release event of Jawan in Chennai with director Atlee, co-stars Vijay Sethupathi and Sanya Malhotra along with music composer Anirudh Ravichander. It was held at Sai Ram Engineering College. During the grand event, Vijay, who plays the antagonist in Jawan, recalled how he was unable to propose to his crush; Shah Rukh was the reason.
Vijay said at the pre-release event that his crush loved Shah Rukh and through Jawan, he took `revenge` from the superstar. Makkal Selvan, as he is popular called in the Tamil film industry, shared, "When I was in school, I was in love with a girl. But she didn’t know. Every Jaanu has a Ram after all (a reference to his 2018 film ’96). But that girl was in love with SRK. It has taken these many years to have my revenge."
