Bappi Lahiri, 69, had been admitted to CritiCare hospital for over a month and was discharged on Monday. Lahiri`s demise comes just days after music legend Lata Mangeshkar`s demise on February 6.

Dr Deepak Namjoshi, director of the hospital, told PTI, "But his health deteriorated on Tuesday and his family called for a doctor to visit their home. He was brought to the hospital. He died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) shortly before midnight."

The mortal remains of Bappi-da - as he was revered in the industry - were carried out of his Juhu bungalow to a flower-bedecked van with a huge hoarding of his photo with the trademark jewellery, for his final journey to the Vile Parle crematorium.
