Daddy (1989):Daddy, directed by Pooja Bhatt`s father Mahesh Bhatt, marked her acting debut in Bollywood. The story revolves around an alcoholic father (Anupam Kher) trying to reconcile with his daughter (Pooja) who has no recollection of her parents.

Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi (1991): Mahesh Bhatt directed his daughter Pooja Bhatt yet again in this unofficial remake of It Happened One Night which was earlier adapted in Hindi as Chori Chori starring Raj Kapoor and Nargis. While the rich, spoilt and bratty daughter (Pooja) runs away from home to marry a film star, she falls for an out-of-job journalist (Aamir Khan) en route. In what could be one of the most memorable moments from the film, her father (Anupam Kher) urges her to elope from her own wedding to be with her love.
