Varun Dhawan was born to filmmaker David Dhawan and Karuna Chopra on April 24, 1987. He has an older brother Rohit Dhawan, who is also a filmmaker. Rohit directed Varun in the 2016 action-thriller Dishoom, which starred John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez. Talking about his family, Varun Dhawan had told mid-day, `I feel lucky to be born and brought up in a family associated with films. As a child, I remember always wanting to entertain everyone around me, I loved being the centre of attention. Since then, it was a secret desire to be a part of the entertainment industry, as an actor, singer or dance. So it makes me happy to be accepted as a part of the fraternity.
