The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center in Mumbai had a star studded opening on March 31, followed by a fashion event. The events saw several celebrities both from Bollywood and Hollywood, to witness the biggest cultural center in India. It was interesting to see celebrities like Priyanka Chopra and Kriti Sanon don the Indian saree in a creative fashion for the event. Even Hollywood stars Gigi Hadid and Zendaya rocked the saree look at the event

In her first trip to India, Gigi Hadid made a statement in a white and gold saree by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. The Chikankari sari was made in the Lucknow region of India, and took a year to make. Wach woman who crafted it specializes in a different stitch, shared Gigi while sharing pictures from the event

Talking about her outfit, the desi girl wrote, "This beautiful outfit was created using a 65 year old vintage Banarasi patola (Brocade)saree with silver threads and a gold electroplating on khadi silk. It is paired with a sequins sheet holographic bustier to reflect the nine colours of ikat weave that the brocade is set in."
