Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar left for her heavenly abode on Sunday morning at the age of 92. After her death, Dr Pratit Samdani, who was treating the singer at Mumbai`s Breach Candy Hospital, issued a statement. Anupam Kher, Ashutosh Gowariker, Javed Akhtar, Anil Desai, Sachin Tendulkar and a lot of celebrities have reached Lataji`s residence at Prabhakunj to pay last respects.

Earlier, the Central Government announced the two-day national mourning to be observed in memory of Lata Mangeshkar. Music composer Lalit Pandit of the famous duo Jatin-Lalit, who worked on most of Lata Mangeshkar`s songs in the last two decades, has many memories of the music icon but what stands out the most for him is her crackling sense of humour that helped break the ice.
