Shravan Rathod
Shravan Rathod of the popular Nadeem-Shravan duo. Shravan breathed his last in Mumbai around 9.30 pm on April 22. The renowned composer succumbed to COVID-19. He was known for his melodious and memorable music and gave classics like Aashiqui, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Deewana, Saajan, Raja Hindustani, Dhadkan, Ek Rishta, and Andaaz. One of his last pieces of work was the 2009 David Dhawan directorial Do Knot Disturb.

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar breathed his last on July 7 at Hinduja Hospital. He was 98. He passed away after a prolonged illness. His contribution to Hindi Cinema was for over five decades. His last film Qila released in 1998 after which he retired from acting. Tributes and condolences poured from all quarters and fields on the legend’s demise. He was known for classics like Ganga Jamuna, Deedar, Mughal-E-Azam, Kohinoor, Ram Aur Shyam. He also starred in some blockbusters like Shakti, Vidhata, Karma, and Saudagar in the later part of his iconic career.

Bikramjeet Kanwarpal Bikramjeet Kanwarpal passed away due to Covid-19 on May 1. He was 52. He was known for sharing screen space with Anil Kapoor in the show 24. He was also seen in films like Rocket Singh, Creature 3D, Grand Masti, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Chance Pe Dance, and many more.

Amit Mistry passed away on April 23 following a cardiac arrest. He was in his mid-forties. He has also done a lot of TV shows like Shubh Mangal Savadhan, Saat Phero Ki Hera Pherie, Tenali Rama, Maddam Sir, and Yeh Duniya Hai Rangeen, among others. He was last seen in the film Bhoot Police. Mistry`s colleagues took to social media to share their condolences.

In his career, he also dabbled with film production and direction. He directed his elder brother Rishi Kapoor in the 1996 film Prem Granth, which also starred Madhuri Dixit.

Shukla’s popularity hit the roof after he participated in the reality show Bigg Boss in 2019 and his bond with Shehnaaz Gill became the talk of the town and also social media. The actress, in the honour of the late actor, released a song called Tu Yaheen Hai, to cherish all the fond memories she made with him.

Filmmaker Raj Kaushal, who directed movies like `Shaadi Ka Laddoo and `Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi`, passed away on June 30 following a heart attack, family friend and actor Rohit Roy said. He was in his 50s. Kaushal was married to actor-TV presenter Mandira Bedi. The couple has two children, son Vir and daughter Tara. For the uninitiated, Mandira and Raj adopted Tara during the first wave of a pandemic outbreak. The duo was excited to share the news when their younger daughter accepted them as a family.

A career that was across mediums -- theatre, films and television, she made her debut with the 1978 political drama film `Kissa Kursi Ka`. She is best known for her performances in `Tamas`, `Mammo`, `Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro`, `Zubeidaa`, `Badhaai Ho` and daily soap `Balika Vadhu`. She won the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1989.
