Following a warning by the Bombay High Court, the BMC, last week, announced that it was developing a new mobile app to record complaints of air pollution. However, the app will take at least two weeks to launch.
The BMC declared on February 4, after a hearing at the High Court (HC) on air pollution, that citizens will get a facility to register complaints about air pollution through the ‘Mumbai Air’ mobile app. The corporation said that the mobile application would soon be available on Android and IOS. “The app is in beta, which means it is available for selected members on a trial basis before launching it for public use. It will take a few more days to launch it on IOS,” said an official from the BMC.
