Shiv Sena (UBT) has demanded that Metro 3-related jobs be reserved for Aarey and Jogeshwari locals. The party asserts that Metro 3 should reserve jobs for residents of the Jogeshwari Assembly area and those within the Aarey jurisdiction. Sandip Gadhave, the Shiv Sena (UBT) shakha pramukh from Aarey Milk Colony, has written a letter to the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) about this.
Gadhave said, “Despite opposition from nature lovers, the MMRCL constructed the Metro 3 car depot in Aarey Milk Colony. The company awarded the contract for this construction brought labourers from other states, and none of the local residents were given any work. We will not tolerate this any longer, so I have written a letter to MMRCL requesting that employment be provided to local residents from Aarey, Goregaon, and Jogeshwari once the Metro starts. Jobs should be given to locals as per government guidelines and rules.”
