The injured Govindas were admitted to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)-run and private hospitals in the city for treatment, a civic official said. The Dahi Handi, a part of the Janmashtami festival that marks the birth of Lord Krishna, saw enthusiastic participation by revellers. The festival is being celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety in Mumbai and other parts of the state.

Over 60 people, including women and children, were hospitalised due to food poisoning after consuming items made from buckwheat flour, officials said on Tuesday. A team from the District Food and Drug Administration raided and sealed the shops of two vendors supplying the contaminated buckwheat flour. A case has been registered against them, they said. The affected individuals -- who were fasting on the occasion of Janamasthami -- experienced symptoms such as vomiting, dizziness and shivering after eating `puris` and `pakodas` made from the flour.

A total of 41 injured Govindas have been reported across various BMC, government, and private hospitals. Among them, 8 have been admitted for further treatment, 26 are currently receiving care on an outpatient basis, and 7 have been treated and discharged, said BMC officials. Specific hospital reports include St. George Hospital, where 2 Govindas were treated&mdash;1 admitted and 1 undergoing OPD treatment. At GT Hospital, 1 Govinda has been admitted. There are some bus diversions owing to the Dahi Handi celebrations on Tuesday. Bus No 118 has been suspended at Kabutar Khana from 6.15 pm owing to the Dahi Handi celebrations at Dadar MC Jawle road. Services of buses 287 and 629 at Thakur Cinema have been suspended on Tuesday from 6.30 pm. Buses 453 and 185 at Tagore Nagar Post Office and through Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital will not operate at 5.30 pm onwards on Tueday. Bus numbers 8 and 379 that ply on Shivajinagar Baji Prabhu Deshpande Marg will go by Shivajinagar Depot from 3pm
