Mumbai: Three members of Kapole society board resign over corruption allegations After mid-day reported about the accusations of corruption levelled against the office-bearers of Kapole Cooperative Housing Society (CHS), three members tendered their resignation, stating they do not want to be part of the committee that faces such grave allegations. Author Siddharth Dhanvant Shanghvi and three other residents had alleged irregularities in the conduct of the society office, and some members were accused of refusing to allow owners from accessing their own property papers. Mumbai: 28-year-old man stabbed to death in Juhu, accused arrested A 28-year-old man was stabbed to death during a scuffle in Juhu area of Mumbai, a police official said on Friday. The incident took place on Wednesday night in Ambe Mata chawl in Nehrunagar and the deceased has been identified as Suraj Kanojia, he said.

Ugandan woman hides cocaine, heroin capsules inside her body; held in Mumbai     The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai zonal unit nabbed a Ugandan national concealing drugs such as cocaine and heroin in capsules inside her body. The officials recovered 64 capsules recovered from her body, which contained 535 grams of heroin and 175 grams of cocaine worth Rs 3 crore, the NCB said.

After the state government’s decision, the civic corporation had set a deadline of May 31, which it had later extended to June 10 and now after consultation with shop owners at ward level meetings, there will be no action on non-Marathi signboards at least till June 30.
