The blaze erupted at around 1 pm in the building located on Chakala Street in Masjid area.

The fire was confined to the third and fourth floors of Vishvamangala Housing Society, the official said.

After receiving information, police and fire brigade personnel reportedly rushed to the site and started the rescue and fire-fighting operation, he said.

Recently, a fire broke out in the 62-storey residential building in Mumbai`s Byculla area wherein a 57-year-old man was injured while 25 to 30 persons had to be rescued.
