Maharashtra government extended the lockdown-like restrictions till June 1 as Mumbai witnessed less than 2,000 cases on Thursday. The Maharashtra government on Thursday extended the lockdown-like restrictions till June 1 to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus. A circular issued stated that any person entering the state by any mode of transport will have to carry a negative RT-PCR test report, which will have to be issued from up to a maximum of 48 hours before the time of entry into Maharashtra. On Thursday, Mumbai recorded 1,946 new Covid-19 cases during the day, which took its caseload to 6,84,048, while the fresh fatalities pushed the death toll to 14,076.
