20th June is special for Indian cricket as it marks the Test debuts of three Indian players with stellar careers in the longest format of the game – Rahul Dravid (1996), Sourav Ganguly (1996) and Virat Kohli (2011).

Both Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid have had glorious Test careers. They made their Test debuts in the second match against England in 1986 at the iconic Lord’s Stadium. Ganguly walked in at No. 3 whereas Dravid made his presence felt at No.7. (Pic: AFP)

Sourav Ganguly was quick to justify his Test appearance as he smashed a century on debut. He scored 131 runs off 301 deliveries at a strike rate of 43.52. He also hit 20 fours and ensured that his performance goes down in cricket history. He went on to score 7212 runs in his Test career. (Pic: Getty Images)

Rahul Dravid also impressed in his debut Test appearance as he went on to score a half-century, remaining just 5 runs short of a century. He scored 95 runs off 267 balls and smashed 6 fours.
