One of the most iconic on-field rivalries, one of the most competitive series, one of the most notable displays of skill -- the Ashes is a Test marvel that can’t be missed. This edition of the thrilling series didn’t disappoint as players from Australia and England put up a fine display of batting, bowling and fielding prowess. Ashes 2023 ended in a 2-2 draw with Australia retaining the urn, but the result was difficult to predict as the series progressed with numerous twists and turns. England’s declaration in first Test In a move that came to be heavily criticised, England captain Ben Stokes declared when his team was at 393/8 in the first innings of the first Test match. Joe Root, riding on a stunning century, and Ollie Robinson had the potential to extend the hosts’ dominance but that was not to be. Australia managed to chase the target and won the Test at Edgbaston.
