Steffi Graf Germany`s Steffi Graf became the first-ever player to win all the titles and an Olympic gold medal at the Olympics. She won all four major titles in the year 1988. In the Australian Open 1988, she defeated Chris Evert by 6-1, 7-6 to register the title to her name. In the French Open, Graf handed over a 6-0, 6-0 defeat to Natasha Zvereva. Facing Matina Navratilova in the finals of the Wimbledon, Steffi won the match by 5-7, 6-2, 6-1. Later, in the US Open, she won it against Argentina`s Gabriela Sabatini by 6-3, 3-6, 6-1. She defeated Gabriela Sabatini in the final, 6–3, 6–3 to win the gold medal in Women`s Singles tennis at the 1988 Summer Olympics
