11th July 2003, a date that remains etched in the hearts of every Mumbaikar. On this day, an ordinary evening turned out to be a fateful one for local train commuters of Mumbai as a series of devastating bombings rocked the financial capital city. On 11th July, 2006, the biggest tragedy of Mumbai i.e. Mumbai train bombing took place. It was 6:24 PM, when a sudden blast rocked a local train between Khar and Santa Cruz stations, piercing the evening calm with tragedy. Within minutes, six more explosions tore through train compartments at Matunga, Mahim, Bandra, Jogeshwari, Borivali, and Mira Road. The sequence of terror unfolded swiftly, targeting innocent commuters who were simply traveling home after a day`s work. The blasts left 209 people dead and over 700 injured, shocking the city to its core and leaving families and friends reeling in disbelief and anguish.  Remembering 2006 Mumbai train bombings, which upturned the lives of hundreds of Mumbaikars on 11th July 2006 forever in a mere span of 15 minutes. Post the 1993 blast, the Mumbai 7/11 train bombings were one of the deadliest terror attacks that Mumbai had seen. The terror attack halted city’s lifeline that targeted first-class suburban compartments during the evening rush hour. However, most remarkable was the heroic efforts of the Railway men on duty who brought back the Railway operations to normal soon after the attack and got back Mumbai on its feet even amidst the turmoil of suffering, loss and trauma.
