At Nitin Desai’s funeral, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar paid their last respect to director Nitin Desai at JJ Hospital in Mumbai on August 04. Renowned art director Nitin Desai allegedly committed suicide at his own ND Studio in Karjat on Wednesday morning. According to police sources, Desai hanged himself at his studio. Khalapur cops are investigating the matter. He was 58.

Renowned art director Nitin Desai was found dead in his studio in Karjat. As per officials, he died by suicide on Wednesday. He was 57. The postmortem reports reveal that the cause of death is due to hanging, as per Raigad police. While there are no reports of foul play, it has been learned that police found a recorded voice message left by Desai in which he is understood to have mentioned four persons. However, the Khalapur police refused to share the details as it was given for forensic investigation. Raigad SP Somnath Gharge on August 02 said that the police are investigating this matter from all angles. India Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar who worked on four films with Desai expressed his sorrow on the untimely demise of the latter.
