Cyclone Biparjoy has caused massive destruction to the farmers in Gujarat. The torrential rain and gusty winds have led to the felling of mangoes and mango trees. In Gujarat’s Gadhasisa, the farmers in the village witnessed severe losses in mango and kharek cultivation as the strong winds from Cyclone Biparjoy up-rooted several mango and kharek trees. On June 15th, the cyclonic storm made landfall in Gujarat’s coastal areas causing large-scale devastations.

Cyclone Biparjoy made landfall on the Gujarat coast on June 15. High-velocity winds struck the region causing significant destruction. Kachchh’s Mandvi of Gujarat witnessed strong winds as an impact of the cyclone. Electric poles were damaged and trees were uprooted in aftermath of the storm. Along with the destruction, heavy rainfall caused waterlogging in several areas of Mandvi. Earlier, heavy rains and gusty winds at a speed of over 115-120 kmph wreaked havoc in Gujarat’s Morbi. In addition to this, 23 animals were killed in Gujarat. Several relief and rescue teams were on alert as thousands of people were evacuated to safe locations. The eye of the storm is currently near the Pakistan-Kutch border.
